2000 3500???

My dad's looking at a 2000 3500 4x4 with an automatic and 45k miles. This is a dually and has the quad-doors. Is there anything to watch out for on this truck, I mean anything to look for specifically when checking it over?? Many thanks in advance!

Put a fuel guage on it and watch the pressure. Lift pumps tend to go out in these, easy fix and somewhat cheep. If they go bad the take out the Fuel pump which will cost you big. Also blow-by if there is any , which i doubt with 45k. Other than that just the basic stuff, tires, rust, paint, anbd such. Sounds like a nice truck though.

There is usually a number stamped at the front of the engine on the driveside, just above the oil pan. It'll be a big 53, which has been known for being a thin casting and cracking. Lots of threads on here about it, so if you're curious, set a side a good chunk of time to read up on it.
