2 quick questions...

1. my bumper is starting to do that stupid sagging thing where the sides start falling down away from the fender....how does one go about fixing it?

2. is it possible to paint chrome plated steel a different color like black or something?

any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Answer to question #1, reduce your tongue/trailer weight. They normally don't bend unless they're overloaded. In the mean time check the bolts.

Answer to question #2, I think if you sand the chrome so the paint has something to stick to, it might work. I'd wait for another opinion first, though.

Painting the chrome is a real problem. Once rust gets under it, it will just continue unless you paint it with something like Por-15. It can be sand blasted but getting it all off is hard....according to the sand shop. At least it would have a tooth for the paint. I think you will continue to chase it. Chrome can be chemicaly removed but by the time you do this then paint it the cost is not too far from new. For example the brush guard I have. I guess $50 to sand blast it then rattle can it with a rust inhibiting paint will be the best I can do. Just repaint it once a year.

Ebay has black front bumpers and new skins, upper in black only and lower in gray or black.

Probably your cheapest bet.

My front bumper was doing the sagging thing when I bought the truck. All I did was loosen the bolts and re-align it.
