BHAF install - Some quick questions
BHAF install - Some quick questions
So I attempted to install the BHAF the other day, but I thought before I finish the job I better ask some questions. I fab'd the Ol' Smokey Mount to house the BHAF.
1) Space is limited, so when you remove the stock air box, do you also remove the bracket on the wheel well that holds your stock air box in place? And do you also remove the air "duct" from underneath the headlight that directs flow into your stock air box, or will this help with air flow on the BHAF?
2) Getting that Ol' Smokey Mount in there isn't all that fun, am I going to have to remove and install this mount every air filter change?
3) Can I use the stock intake air setup? I see a number of ppl installing a new setup with exhaust tubing etc...but is this necessary?
4) Am am planning on putting 4" exhaust in the near future, but is this much air flow okay with my stock 3", or will my EGT's be too high?
Alot of little questions, but thanks in advance.

1) I didn't find removing the bracket to be necessary. The duct couldn't hurt.
2) Yes. Pain in the butt, isn't it? On the upside, if you drive an average amount you only need to do it every couple of years.
3)The stock tubing is not a good fit and it pops off a lot. Aggravating and bad for the motor.
4)More air can only improve EGT.
