1998 12 valve VIN decoding

http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...2&pgno=8&srt=1

8th digit is D for a 12 V right? i looked on dodgeram.org and that's what it looked like to me, but i want to make sure before i call.

Any forum members here in that area?

One other thing , does that look like a short or long box to you guys? looks like a shorty to me , which is what i want , and it's a 5 sp!

Looks like a short bed to me.
According to the VIN, it's not a Quad Cab though, just the 2 door club cab,
so it isn't the "Holy Grail" of trucks.

You are correct. That by vin is a short box 12v diesel. I can fax you a copy of all the sales codes on that truck if you pm me a fax number.

Thanks jerry , from the pic it doesn't look like a 4 door , but this is as close as i have come to the "holy grail" in almost a year of searching.

I just managed to repeat myself through a phone conversation with the owner , between his little bit of english , and my little bit of french , i think we communicated.

He is going to e-mail me a bunch of pictures of the truck.

If it looks good, get in your vehicle and GO to LOOK at it....you are not going to find a truck from home and 12Vs sell fast as many guys including truck brokers are after them.

When I bought my 01 I drove 5 hours one way to look at it. Made him and offer and drove home so I could get everything in place. Then drove another 10 hours to pick it up

I don't think i will find another truck like this for a while, the problem is my weekend this weekend is booked SOLID.

I may look for a day off of work next week and leave here EARLY in the morning , and drive up.

I was out to cape breton a few weeks ago to look at a 97 , left my place at 5 am , and it was 8 30 pm when i got home. THAT was a long drive. the kicker was i filled up for 94.9 , diesel fuel for 94.9!

Manual trannied one has a lot less mileage,
but the auto trannied one has 4 doors (quad cab), and per the VIN, is a 12 valve.
