Hello. I am thinking of buying an '02' ctd short box . It has all the features I want except the previous owner removed the rear seat to make room for a wheelchair. Apparently it is a 60/40 split rear and the '40' is still there. Can I take out the 40 and find a full width seat? I would expect the splits are rare as it was an option. Would a seat from a 98-01 be the same? I have not seen the truck yet so I don't know the mounting details. I just need some advice on options open to me.

That's wild.. my '98 has a solid, single rear bench.

 

I would think they would interchange, a lot of work to tool up for two different rear cab walls...

I wonder if mine would be that way, I have my rear seat folded up for storage, it would be awesome to be able to have one seat back there (it seems like there are three people in it to much on the front bench...)

 

My 2002 has the same thing.

Every quad cab I've seen has a solid rear seat.

Maybe it's a 3rd gen rear seat in a 2nd gen quad cab?
