255/85/16 Pics

I like the looks of a taller skinny tire. Anyone have pics and/or running 255/85/16 Pics?

I ran them on my Ram 1500... it's a narrow tire, I didn't really like the look but it fit the stock(1500) rim better and was a little cheaper than the 285/75/16's I had been running.

I prefer the look of a 285/75 on the 2500... looks 'beefier'

I do not have any pics, but rest assured this tire size, Cooper Discoverer STT was good enough for Mike Alstott and his GMC 3500.

No it wasn't Dodge, but they look good!

Back to the tires, I saw them on his demo truck at the dealership last weekend. I am thinking of buying a set myself.

Go for it!

How does the truck take the corners with the wider sidewall? I know going from a 265R16 75 to 285R16 75, you can feel the sidewalls flexing on hard corners. At times it almost feels like you can peel them off the rims there so much flex. Also how well does the spare fit under the bed. The 285R16 was a tight fit on my truck.

I had 255/85-16's and did not like them for towing because of the tall sidewall flexing. (and I feel they are too tall for a 5 speed and 3.55's)

I am now running 265's (on 3rd gen 17's) and like them for towing. My mileage went up some by going with a smaller diameter tire too.

had them on my 01 for a while till they got holes and went flat I think they looked short cause thay were skinny and the eagle 589's had a lot of back spacing I think. now I have a set of 23585R16's on it cause I had them around the 255 lr d is way nicer riding than the 235 lr E and they handel about the same. I am going to 285's when my firestone M/T's wear out.
