Mods to help.

Hey guys, I just bought a 1998 3500 4x4 4dr dually. Its a 12 valve with a 5spd manual. I already own a 1992 w-250 5spd. I've done a few upgrades to the '92 like BHAF and stacks as well as the 3200 GSK and a fuel pin.

What upgrades can i do to my 98 to make more horsepower and torque. Nothing crazy. Maybe 425 - 450 hp and 800 or so torque ? Obviously i dont want to spend thousands. I pull a 34 foot gooseneck now and then and i would like a little smoke rolling from the stacks also. Any idea's ?

Gauges: pyro and boost at least is the 1st thing to do. fuel plate (basic mod , 3gsk, some injectors (like 90hp not marine 370s that will make u smoke all over the place and add a ton of heat b/c they have the incorrect spray pattern), quick spool exhaust manifold (a big help for down as boost comes on sooner down low), 4 or 5inch exhaust (will help keep the heat down and they can be had for around 300). if you can afford it id def. get a bigger turbo like a 62 or hx-40 that way you get some cooler air in there and keep the egts down for towing. you will probably need a better clutch by now as well

I'd grind a 100 or 0 plate, get a GSK (I run the Smokem style 3k gsk, big torque down low, but loses the top end pretty quick), bump the timing up, get injectors. I ditched my HX35/3" exhaust for a 62/71/14 and full 4" exhaust, and I gained 150-200 degrees when cruising empty on the highway. My boost is also down about 50% on the highway as well. I haven't gotten to play with it much yet, but the pyro kept moving past 1400 when I did. If you're towing, the stock turbo wouldn't be that bad, good power down low and you'll have lower EGT's until you really get into the fuel. If you mat it though, your pyro is gonna go shooting up pretty quick.
