Youd be much better off with Mobile Delvac 1 5W30...its a group IV and FULLY synthetic....
The Rotella "synthetic" 5W-40 was $12.88 a gallon last time I got Delvac at Wally-Mart. For the price, it's a great oil. It doesn't get cold enough around here for me to spend double what I need to on oil, though.
I always just use the same oil throughout the year, 0w-30 Amsoil series 3000, never had any problems. Also I run it for a year and always change it in the spring. The filters get re-placed every 2000 miles, very simple just spin off and spin on, takes about 4-5 minuets. Good luck.

Just switched mine to Cat full synthetic DEO, the MSDS says it is made by Mobil-Exxon, and as far as I can tell, and from what our oil supplier says, it is just rebadged Delvac 1. Plus I can get it for around 20 bucks a gallon at employee cost.
I have already noticed a slight MPG improvment, but I am not sure if it is the oil, or a change in my driving habbits. When I finish this tank of fuel, I will get a better idea.

I changed to Petro Canada Duron 10w30 when I was visiting Saskatchewan, Can. at Christmas. It was -30 celcius. I needed a change anyway. 15w40 Delo was too thick even at -10.
I change at 125 hrs in winter and 150-175 hrs in the summer.
Diesel oil is built for higher shear strength. I wouldn't put 0w30 in my truck. Although we did use it in the old JD tractor on the winter-it was the only way it would start. I tried 0w30 in the Nissan 240sx, and I thought it was too thin for that.
