WIF Light issues, Gen 2
WIF Light issues, Gen 2
I just talked to a guy with an 07 3500 6.7. He got a tank of bad fuel and his WIF light never came on. His tank had a lot of water. Seems like the Gen 3 an 07's in particlar seem to have bad WIF sensors or lights. Of course, Chrysler said, "Not our Problem", even with warranty
Seems I have seen few few or no WIF issues with the stock Gen 2 filter/water seperator.
Is this true?
Also, I am sure some have put on an extra fuel/ water seperator upstream?
Any comments there?

Knock on wood...no issues here. I run wix factory filter plus a baldwin spin-on just before the holley lift pump. I can't tell you how many injector issues I've seen related to 3rd gen dirty fuel problems. I've come to believe the 3rd gen factory fuel filter is not adequate or that the element used does not have the proper micron rating to keep the electronic injectors happy. JMO. A friend of mine just had all 6 replaced at the cost of $4600 (under warranty).
Seems like maybe the Gen 3's should all be looking at after market water/filter systems since Chrysler may have gotten that wrong.
At least from what I have read since 2002, our filters, seperators work well.
I have not had any WIF issues (knock on wood) ever. Seems like not many gen 2 owners do.
