White smoke at startup and stunble

I have a 99 that just started this problem, first thing in the morning I get white smoke and it is a bit roung running for about 5 seconds. Then the smokes goes away and the engine runs smooth. (It is not cold here like 70 deg in the AM) After I run for awhile and the engine is warm and I park it for say 30 min. when I go to start it will take a little longer to start up. (Normally it is the spilt second the starter hits, now it is more like 1-2 seconds.) At times the engine will "stumble" a bit, several seconds and than all is well. I also noted if the AC is on the idle will "hunt" up/down some (maybe 200-400 rpm). I have good fuel psi (guage reads in the 12-14 psi range, new lift pump installed 2 weeks ago when this all started, but before I had the FP guage.) What gives? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'd see if there are any codes, and check the fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is OK, I'd say you have a timing problem, at best. Could be the fuel injection is in its way out.

white smoke

( this was the 3 rd problem) Well the white smoke is what mine did when I made the mistake of getting it! I took it back several times and that was a was of money and time. The fuel pump was probably taking a severe beating by then. The first vp was replaced trying to fix the stumble, and it didn't so more money wasted!!!!! Part of mine passing white smoke was the block weeping coolant past the valves somewhere in a very narrow temperature window. So it still weeps to this day. Is there any vapour coming from the breather???? Very dissapointed the the great lack of knowledge and help from Cry-slurr and *** - ins they just want to selll you more parts and not fix anything!!!!

Fuel pressure is 12-14 psi at all times, I only get the white smoke at startup after many hours cool off. (First start of the day) and it only lasts about 5-10 seconds. At times I feel and small stumble, but it is very slight and for the most part only in the 1700-2000 rpm range. It has had a few hard to start while warm (not at normal temp.) also. I have a scanner due in this week, no dash light so far.

Did a scan for codes, got P0123 is all. I measured the idle settinf got the APPS it was .5 vdc, labeled as .498 so that looks to be ok. I'm thinking IP is the problem.
