My truck just started puffing out white smoke at startup,it clears up after it runs for a few min,what could be my problem?? thanks

 

White smoke can mean the IP is going....notice any hard starts?


What kind of fuel pressure are you seeing? Have to scanned for codes?

 

Larger injectors will make the truck smoke a bit when it first starts up. White smoke usually means too much fuel or you are burning coolant.

When my lift pump went out I got a ton of white smoke. It was still under warranty but they said the VP-44 would be fine. Two weeks later it was back at the dealer with a dead VP.

 

What they said and also could be an intercooler boot failuer or worst case antifreeze in the cylinders due to a blown head gasket. Just my .02

It has mach2 inj ,they have about a 100k on them ,have a fass lift pump ,so has good presure, vp44 has 200k on it ,and it has had dead petal twice in the last 6 months,so the pump could be going,fuel milage wentfrom 18-20 to 15-17 .I checked the radiater ,its full ,so I dont know what to think
