wheel bearings?

wheel bearings?
I have a buddy that has a stock 2000 1 ton 2wd, i havent rode in it but he says it make a loud noise when driving straight or turning right. Turning to the left he says it quits. It has 140000 on it. I'm thinking wheel bearings but thats just from how he describes it. Any ideas?
