What's the nominal range of resistance for the APPS?
I purchased my 99 a little over a year ago. I had what seemed to be APPS issues soon after I purchased it. It started with a WOT condition. I tinkered with the APPS at the time once I found out the cost to replace ($400). Everthing has been working fine (aside from a dead pedal condition every couple of months).
Last week I pulled battery cables off to do a few things and after I put everything back together the WOT condition returned. I checked pin 23 as outlined in the adjustment procedure and was getting only 4V. My APPS sticker states 5.95V. I adjusted the APPS to this nominal setting and went through the recal prcedure but was still getting WOT if I did anything other than idle. It is clearly and issue with the APPS as I manually changed the throttle with a screwdriver in the slot of the APPS.
I recall checking the resistance of the APPS last year and it seemed to be working--resistance would change as I rotated the APPS. Today I acutally measured the range of resistance. When monitoring pins 3 and 4 I would get 200ohms at default (idle--spring relaxed) and around 3000ohms when rotated to the top end (full throttle).
Is this the range I should expect? I have searched the board but have not come across anyone stating the specifics on this. Is my APPS toast? Should I just bite the bullet and fork out the big bucks for the replacement?
