I heard Fram was a bad actor also, but I've been using them since I can't remember when. The "A" filter is supposed to be the latest and greatest thing. I've ran Fram filters in my 79 Caddy with the 5.7 diesel, my 78 Olds Custom Cruiser with the 5.7 diesel, my 85 Surburban 6.2 diesel, my 93 Ford 7.3 Crew Cab, my 96 Dodge Cummins and my 2000.

I guess if you get a bad one, you just get one and I don't think its only one manufacturer. Its just the only one we've heard about since it caused a cummins to seese up.

Just put another one on last week.

I run Rotella 15-40 and Wix filters. Change oil and filters every 7500 miles.
Wix is made by Dana and has always worked for me. Put 150,000,000 on a 425 cat using Wix filters and never had a breakdown. Awesome filters!

Rotella T and Fram. This boats getting crowded!

Wix filters: oil @6k diesel @15k Was using rotella made my truck smell bad. Went to delvac 1300. Now smells like it supposed to. Any one else notice a strong smell using rotella? now have 53k on truck... SWEET
