What DTT?
What DTT?
well gents, i need some help in spending $6000.00.i'm not a tranny guy, actually not a mechanical guy by any strech of the imagination.but what i am is in need of a new tranny.SO i followed the thread that REDNECK-WELDING started a while back and it seemed DTT won out,as looking at his sig, DTT tranny installed.now i need a tranny that can pull 12,000lbs regular and if needed 25,000lbs once in a while.i need to know if a guy needs all they say. billet input shafts, output shafts, flex plates, etc.you guys that have this stuff let me know what you would do differently.this Bit*h needs to be rock solid.thanks boys in advance, and can we keep this from being a pissin match.
I have run a DTT for years and we now build them.
But the trans can be built up as much or as little as you want.
With that weight, you are looking at a billet converter minimum, billet input shaft, and possibly a 3rd gear drum. Obviously, the valve body will be built to the specs designed for your truck based on expected usage and power. And all the other internal goodies that are standard will also be in there. I would also highly recommend an aftermarket flexplate, DTT has those as well.
The output shaft is considered optional by most. And it really depends on how you drive the truck and what you are comfortable with.
Billet parts are not a guarantee. They are simply stronger than the stock components.
Get a profile sheet filled out and returned and you can get the recommendation process more streamlined.

As suggested...Call DTT and give profile of your truck usage. Also get list of installers. Go from there.
