What is a CKP sensor?

Had the injection pump on my 01 HO replaced and now there is a 1690 code. So What does it mean and how does one go about fixing it?

IIRC 1690 is a companion code thrown when the ECM/PCM have a misunderstanding. It should go away after a few starts/shut downs...

The dreaded 0216 is the one you don't want to see.

1690 code is Cam Position Sensor. It is located near the VP44. If your VP44 was replaced, maybe they didn't get the harness back on the sensor or maybe the connector is dirty. The sensor is located on the back of the timing cover above the VP44. Do a search for Cam Position Sensor. You should find some photos.
