Well, here goes nothing!

I found another truck, this one is a 99 Dodge Ram, 5spd, 4x4, long box. 170k on the clock. Extremely clean, a cut in the seat, the gooseneck looks like it was used pretty good. Not a 53 block, could not find 53 on either side. No codes, so hopefully good as far as the Vp and lp. The back of the tranny looks like it was reseal recently, so I'm assuming the 5th gear nut has been fixed. Its at a car lot , so they don't have much a history on it. I'm applying for the loan today, as well as seeing if they'll let me have it for a day.

Oh and they are asking $11965 for it...does that sound decent?

Sounds like a pretty reasonable price...depending on where you're at...

I'm in Fort Worth Texas. I drove the truck home to take it to a Diesel place in Joshua to take a look at it. I'm going to the Bank afterward. It feels great!

Wow, I'd like to know what dealer didn't have the previous owners history on care and driving style of a used car or truck. Every used vehicle I have ever looked at had a great story of care and pampering tagged onto it by some moron salesman! Sounds pretty decent for 12K. Mileage isn't too high and a 4X4 too! Have fun, Kurt

I didn't hear that from the salesman, I came to that conclusion myself. The Diesel Shop I took it too this morning who looked it over for me agreed. The guy said, "It was probably a old Grandpa who owned this truck. Buy it." He said that maintance probably needed to be done, fluid in the transfer case, and rear end, and get the valves adjusts. Align the front in and I'll be good for a long time. He said the turbo sounded strong, Fuel Pressure was good...I'm going to the bank today!

I just drove through Fairfield sunday, stopped at that Texas Burger/Subway.

I probably won't have it by tomorrow because of the bank taking a long time. The bank says its normal. Hmm, slow service is normal?

No offense meant Marty, I was just surprised that the salesman admitted not knowing a history on the truck as most I've come into contact with usally have a great story about whatever I'm lookin at. Did you get it yet? Kurt
