From light throttle to wot there is a small but annoying ticking noise that sounds like its coming from somewhere in front of the steering wheel. I was hoping somebody might have an idea about what is making this noise underneith the hood of my truck?

I'm hear with ya too. I have a ticking noise as well, it sounds like a little exhaust leak close to my right foot only under load. Did the valves, no change.

 

Before you get futher out of shape on ticking, look at other complaints of ticking. If it is running OK, not loosing oil, not idling rough, maybe a valve adjustment check and leave er be. You will know soon enough if something is really wrong.
