Re:Weird idling issue

Mine has done that before, it will idle rough and clear up in a few seconds. Don't know what causes it but don't think it's anything serious. It might be a lack of fuel for a second, somebody will know what it is.

Re:Weird idling issue

Could it be a little air in the fuel system?...don't know but I would start there maybe.

I don't know how, but I'm sure your wife is somehow behind this "leave of abscence".

Re:Weird idling issue

In the cooler weather the heaters cycle causing the idle to drop when the heaters are on and then raise backup when they turn off.
Bruce

Re:Weird idling issue

Mine has had the 50-100 rpm fluctuation on the guage ever since it was new. I kept my eye on it, but the truck runs great so I passed it off as being a "DIESEL". Run a little rougher than a "gaser". As long as the truck runs good, I would not worry about it.

P.S. What does everyones truck "idle" at???

Check the crank sensor. It will cause that.

Re:Weird idling issue

My '01.5 just started doing it a week ago, but not at every start-up. Just changed fuel filter and ran fine for a week before starting the fluctuation. Seems to have no effect on acceleration at all, wouldn't the crank sensor be faultly at all rpm's?

Re:Weird idling issue

If it is only first thing in the morning and only for a few minutes maybe the choke is stuck closed. ;D
