Weak Lift Pump

My lift pump is not gone, but it is weak.

South Plains Cummins in Dallas wants $500 to $600 to replace it.

Does anyone in the Dallas area know where I can get it done cheaper? I don't mind driving a few miles to the surrounding area to save some $$$$.

1 plug- 2 fuel lines- 3 nuts. Should take you less than an hour.

If you are into doing something nice for your truck get at least some high flow banjos, or better a high flow fuel system. (I suggest wildcat)

If you do it yourself you can be shure it's done right. (And have some $$$ left for other goodies )

$500 bones! I could find a better way to spend that money. For that money I'll fly to TX and change it for you. Seriouly, it is real easy. Pick up a pump from Cummins (part # 3990105) and do it yourself. You don't even have to move the fuel filter can, you can reach the inlet line bolt from under the truck.

WOW!! $500 to 600!

After fiddling around under the hood a few times I can say that it is honestly pretty straight forward. Price for a pump should be around $150 or so. The Wildcat Max Flow System is a very nice upgrade while you are in there.

Excuse me??????? $500 to $600?????

I have a word document that goes step by step and I have done five now. I have it down to about 35 minutes. Drop me an e-mail and I will send you the step by step and tell them to cram it. That is unbelieveable.
I just installed the FASS system last week while in Missouri and fuel pressure problems went bye bye.

Brother-in-law and I installed the new LP yesterday.

The numbers look good and the truck runs great!
Key 0n = 20+
Idle = 19
WOT = 13, Boost at 20+, EZ on the Hot Post

Life is good.............again.

Surprised me a little too. I'm using the same gauge, connected to the top of the FF, that I've used for five months. It's dropped from 14 at idle and 6 at WOT to 9 at idle and 2 at WOT in that time. Needless to say, I babyed it with the EZ on low post until I replaced the pump. I have a new permanent mounted gauge ordered from WTTD.

Not bad though, this is the first LP after 131,800 well maintained, sanely driven, lotta fun miles.
