Ways to cool truck?

My truck, for 3 years hasn't hardly even gotten over 190* on hte stock temp guage. Just these past two weeks, it's been so hot here at work that the drive home, with teh AC on I am finding teh truck well into the 220* range, maybe higher. This has me rather concerned. I run an Edge Comp (5x5) and have for over a year. The exhaust is straight through, so I'm thinking of ordering a BHAF to help with more air. What else can I do to help keep my engine cool? I was thinking maybe a cowl induction hood or something else to let more cooler air in, and the warmer air out.

TIA!

The radiator looks fine, fluid is clean. I can only assume that the T-Stat is working because the truck warms and operates as normal, but during the heat of teh day 120* outside, the truck get warmer than it used to.

You know, I'm not sure off-hand. The dealer has always just done it's thing. I'd have to check. I'm sure it's been a while, well, except for Oil, that's my thing, and it get's done regularly. Maybe 2000 ago for Oil.

Mine overheated even after the fluid was changed/flushed. Once I changed my thermostat it dropped back down to a solid 190 and has held there even when pulling heavy loads on hot days.

Pull your radiator and flush all of the oil and crap from the puke bottle out of it. Depending on how many miles you got, your radiator is probably nicely clogged. Can you hear a giant roar when the temps get up that high? If you do (and you'll know what I mean if it's working right), then your fan is working alright. Don't know how you'd check to see if the water pump is working. I'd definately replace the T-Stat. Hauling in Dixe lost 2 engines cause of that stupid little thing.

I can test water pump by pulling upper hose, but that's a huge mess. Maybe I'll try replacing the T-Stat and seeing what else it up. The truck just broke 70K.

Check the radiator front side to see if it is clogged with oil residue and stuff. I've read that this is common. Mine was doing the same thing. Checked it and sure enough, the radiator had a nice circle of thick gunk on the front that matched perfectly the outline of the fan on the other side. Cleaned off with degreaser and rinsed thoroughly and it was back to normal. Hope this is what your problem is because it is easy to remedy.
