Drain the filter. Have you washed the engine recently? or driven through water?
John
Re:WATER IN FUEL

Let some fuel run out of the fuel filter.Could be just one of those puter gremlins some of the 03 have.I got my first diesel truck in 91 and never had the water in fuel light come on.Drain some of that fuel in too a clear bottle and if theres water in it you will be able to tell. Are you using any kind of additives?

Hey adgr71,

As TBGH brought up... what led up to the light coming on?

These sensors are pretty, well, sensitive. :

If you have been running through mud, deep water, or if you recently washed your engine, etc, theres a good chance you got a little moisture in the sensor. (thats all it takes)

Now, if you just bought fuel and the light came on.. then you may actually have water in the fuel.

Rich
