wastegate

i see some of you talk about blocking the wastegate, what does this mean and what does it do? how do you do it?

Blocking the wastegate to get more boost is all wrong.
Change the opening point. This still allows it to open to prevent the drive pressure to cause head gasket failure.
some want to try for boost over 35-40 and a stock turbo is not capable of living long like that.
