Vp44/walbro Problem?

well i installed the walbro 392 back in may. and i know im gonna hear it, but i dont have a fuel guage yet(wife got back from deployment going through divorce, lawyers fees, her court martial, etc) but anyhoo, some times, it has hard starting. after running it for a couple of hours, takes 2-4 seconds at most to start. cold starts only about a half a second to 1 second to start. while cruising at 55mph-60mph at around 1500-1600 i get dead pedal. i need to change the fuel filter this weekend. there are no leaks in the system, etc. ive noticed that after the truck has been warmed up, and i go to restart, if i bump the starter, then crank, itll fire right up. im not gonna change the vp until it goes out. was thinking about going with the hrvp next. do any of yall think this would be ok going with a hrvp, since ill be towing pretty heavy on a regular basis (20,000 lbs) when i eventually get back to texas? im thinking that the vp is going out so what can you do. gotta git a fp guage

You need to get that truck fixed and get your butt back to Texas!

Have you checked for codes? If you get an 0216 or 1688 your VP is toast. If no codes, find a gage and and check the fuel pressure. Hopefully it's just a dirty filter.

SP, it sounds like you are talking about my own truck. Same starting issue, same dead pedal issue, put in Walbro about the same time. And I know I drove the truck with no LP pressure for at least 3 months until I learned it. Took it to Autozone and got DTC 0216. The VP is on order.
Now I hope yours hangs in there until you get the rest of the issues resolved.
Good luck!
