vp44 replacement question...

when pulling the injection pump gear off the VP44 pump shaft, what size are the threads in the gear? i've searched and only found that a certain brand puller comes with the correct bolts but would rather know what the thread size is since i have a machine shop at work that could make me a puller.

i also spoke with a company last night and they said the pump usually slips right off the gear and there is no need to use a puller seems everyone else needs to use one so that comment threw me for a loop, but maybe some truth to it?

any help would be appreciated. thanks!

I just used a little cheap steering wheel puller when I did mine. Can't tell you the size but it was just a standard bolt that came with the puller set.

the bolts that hold on the apps are the right size. You could use them or take one out and size it. IMO you will need a puller. I use a little one we had laying around had to grind a little on it. It was a little wide, but goter done
