Vp44 Pump
I was about to put a new vp44 in my truck. I was curious if anyone had tried using the vp44's that go on the 275 hp rv engines. I know these pumps are calibrated for higher fuel rates. I am curious as to whether you need the ecm to tell it what to do, or if the higher rated pump will do more on its own. I know some people who have put the HO pump on SO engines with some improvements. The RV pumps should be even stronger. Please advise!! THANKS, CAPTCOOL

I think the injectors are the difference on those engines. I have never heard of anything but 2 VP44's one for SO and one for HO.
Someone who knows more will chime in to confirm or correct me.

The ones they use or the RV trucks have the same injection pump that we run on our trucks and they will not make any more power. There is a high performance vp44 that is available that will make around 70hp when put on an HO truck and a little less on an SO. They are just as reliable as a bosch reman and are only a little bit more money. They also cary the same warantee as a bosch reman. They are available through www.piersdiesel.com
