Vp44 on Back order??

Last week i had the dead pedal symptom, so today i had an appointment at the dealer to verrify that the Vp44 was bad, sure enough the Vp44 was toast. When i went to pick the truck up they said that they put in an order for a new one and i asked them how long and they said probably a week or two, the pumps are on back order. They said there have been alot of them failing recently and i said wow, Im shocked,(sarcasticaly). Was hoping for a quicker turn around time, when they did my fathers truck, it only took them a couple of days to get the parts in and do the swap. They also told me that the PCM was spliced into, but they did not care. What is the PCM and where is it located? Thanks

PCM is the Primary Control Module, the computer running everything in the truck besides the engine which has it's own Engine Control Module (ECM)

PCM is on the passenger side firewall, 3 big clusters of wires coming out of it.

I believe the PCM wires are spliced into to get 2nd gear lockup, or a lockup indicator light, and the noise filter.

Oh, almost forgot.

The VP44 was just released from STAR control, meaning, the Dealership doesn't have to get approval from Dodge HQ to replace the VP44, so a lot of Dealerships have been stocking up.

This might create a bit of a backorder.

2001 auto trans VP's are on backorder. The dealer I'm at has two on the shelf but we're not letting any of them go. Other dealers have been inquiring about them a few times a day.
