VP 44 and vehicle ECM
I appreciate all the feedback about 24 valve reliability. It seems that some people really think vp 44's are junk. I have bought one now I guess I will find out for my selfself. I will install a preasure guage on the supply as recommended and check the codes. hopefully I will get some service out of it prior to major outlays.
So there is some obvious problems with lift pumps, and vp 44 pumps. How about the truck's ECM?, how reliable are these. Are the controls of the engine completely integrated into the truck's ECM?, or are they stand alone?
Also one last thing, who has the best manuals for heavy maintenance?
Thanks yall

An even stranger story....... for ever the experts have said that an ECM, PCM, etc... should be located where it can be cool and vibration free, and away from the elements. Having it mounted to the engine down low pretty much goes against every golden rule ever made about an engine controller, but I've only replaced one ever!!! If the fuel system was as reliable as the ECM we would truely have a great system.
