vp/44 or not

Ok My Truck Is A1999 24v Ctd.i Was Having Hard Starts With It After Driving It And Letting It Set For Awhile.if I Let It Set For Several Hours It Would Start.no Signs Of Anything Wrong While Driving It. Started To Get Harder To Start After Doing This For A While.maybe A Week Or Week & Half.so I Started By Replacing L/p With The Intank Pump (mopar).still Doing Same Thing So I Then Replaced Fuel Filter.(i Realize That I Should Have Started With Fuel Filter And Then Change Pump).truck Is Now Working Fine No Hard Starts. I Went Ahead And Ordered A New Vp/44 Before Changing F/f Thinking That Was The Problem.should I Return It Or Replace It.i Am Not Sure If There Is A Way To Test My I/p That Is Currently In My Truck.thanks For Any Help.you Guys Sure Know Your Stuff.

I don't see any thing listed on your truck profile as if you have a fuel pressure
gauge are not. I would start with a gauge and that would determined if you
should keep VP44 are not.

Check for codes. You'll need a code reader. Hopefully you won't find the dreaded P0216 code.
