Below are two topics in the Tech Facts section concerning the VP$$. Can someone give me more info on why the connectors need to be replaced and the sympthoms. Also, where to find a VP$$ tester.

WOW!

These are two important topics for 2nd Gens in the Tech Facts. I'm amazed that someone hasn't chimed in on this.

Why?

Is there something wrong with your connectors/VP? I don't really see the point in this, it's way over the shadetree mechanics head ... sorry, don't mean to be negative, maybe I'm missing something! This is the first time I've heard of either of these topics.

No, but I'd like to head off potential problems if possible.

The connector number could come in handy. Now if you could find me the connector # for the APPS. I have the cummins VP tester. It has come in handy a couple times, but all it does is take the wiring and ECM out of the loop. If it idles poorly in stock configuration, and you plug in the box and it runs ok, you know you need to work from the VP back.

Thanks for the info.

I was hoping the tester was something that measured the performance of the VP44 and would predict failure. Oh well..........
