Vibration at 55+

I get a lot of vibration under my feet and seat at 55 and over. Checked all u joints and they looked good also checked tires, but the carrier bearing has some play to it and also the rubber around it is starting to break apart. Would this cause my vibration?

Not too bad, getting it off takes a little bit of work, but with some WD-40 it should come off. I changed mine in the parking lot. There is 2 sizes out there, so you need to make sure you get the right one. The bolt patterns are different and you can really tell untill you get yours off the carier brace.

Another thought, is your truck in fact a 2002 or 2002.5?

2002.5 doesn't have the CAD, so the front driveshaft is turning all the time.

Check the CV or Double Cardan joint, the one right as it comes off the transfer case.

You could also pull the front driveshaft completely and go for a test drive and see if the vibe is still there,
if the vibe is gone, it's the front driveshaft causing it.

Central Axle Disconnect.

Vaccum operated sleeve that connects the axle to the differential when you put it in 4 wheel drive.

You'll be able to tell by looking at the front axle passenger side, you'll see the CAD unit.

mine does this too but starts around 40* but not all the time. I cant tell if its the road or if its the truck. The roads have huge ruts in them from all the studded tires

My 02 was manufactured in 9-02, and has a cad, so being a 2002.5 doesnt neccesarily mean it doesnt have the cad
