Very sticky brakes in cold weather
Very sticky brakes in cold weather
So the truck has been doing great here in Fairbanks, except the brakes. I can't feel them dragging at all when I accelerate, but when I am coming to a stop I can. Not at all above 5mph, but once I get real close to stopping they lock up on their own and I skid a little. It doesn't appear to be a safety issue, just annoying at stop signs if I am on ice. It's been in this cold of weather before, you think just need to pull and lube the caliper bolts?

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
The truck has ABS at least RWAL. One of characteristis is they stop working at 8-12 MPH. This means lockup will occur if you are on the binders enough, especially on ice. Make sure rear brakes are adequatelly adjusted. Depending on shoe material, some may be more agressive when cold.
