Iv'e got a 99 with 293.000 miles on it . I adjusted valves at 100.000. I have never had the valve cover off sense then. Never done anything to injectors. It runs great, are there things I need to start watching for at this milage and should I do the valves again?

 

If you have never touched the injectors it wouldn't hurt to replace them or at least pop test. Gives you an excuse to upgrade to something like RV275s. I've heard 150-200,000 miles is a good time to at least have them pop-tested and adjusted. Someone on TDR did theirs around 150k and found two of them leaking and wasn't able to correct it so he replaced them. It had been running pretty smoothly but ran even better with new injectors.

 

Ok thats what I was looking for, but this thing could'nt be running any better and it has all the power I really need. Got any idiea what it cost to have a set pop tested and reset, like I said never messed with them...ed

 

Outlaw, I know our trucks differ, but I have 314K on my injectors and doing my second valve adjustment today. If the truck is running good and has good power, leave it be. You start tinkering with stuff that doesn't need to be fixed then that can let Murphy in. I would leave things alone. That 24V engine in your truck can run a long time if you keep the maintenance up regularly.

 

Thanks thats what I wanted to hear. Dont know what to think about another valve adjustment, I think I'll go with the ( if it ain't broke dont fix it ) theory. Thanks to all for the input...ed

 

Hey ED, it's usually good practice to have injectors reset every so often, because the springs that govern the pop off pressure will over time soften and will result in a lower atomisation of the injected fuel and so lower the power and mpg's.I don't know what dodge recommend but we get the injectors reset on the farm tractors every 1500 to 3000 hours and it does make a huge difference to the fuel economy(thats if a 200 horse tractor has any to begin with haha).When I put new injectors in my truck at 200k it ran smoother and was lighter on diesel.

 

Theres my old bud, ya I thought maybe someone knew some schdule on them that I hadn't heard of. It runs so dam good and I dont really like it up there under that hood much anymore. This truck got everything it ever needed when I was working it like I was. If it ain't necassary Im just to tired to mess with it . thanks

A lot of farmers in Ireland are completely self sufficient with machinery ourselves included.Weather here is just to unpredictable to rely on custom harvesters.

 

I've heard about those Valtras and that they are very dependable machines. If I ever win the Loto, I'm getting a Lamborghini tractor just so I can tell people "I own a Lamborghini!" Hey, at least you can work the tractor instead of drive around showing off the car. The downside, getting it dirty. Whoever heard of someone getting their Lamborghini dirty?
I have a JD 2155 that I won at auction for $4500 and it came with a 6' Bush Hog 306 in perfect condition. I had to do a little work on the tractor hydraulics but other than that the machine is in great shape. I learned a lot about it from mytractorforum.com. A lot of info on the site. Now, go wash that thing, it's too pretty to be dirty.

What??Compared to what that tractor looks like now it's spotless in that pic haha.But if your interested in washing it for me bud, then I'm roughly 4000 miles to your left give or take a thousand.If you guys want to know about this lil country ask the questions or pm me and I might start a thread to answer you guys and stick up a few pics of the place.
