Update 8/136000 Warranty Denial
Update 8/136000 Warranty Denial
I went and met face to face with the GM of the dealership to find out what they were going to do about the $1000 lift pump job that didn't solve my problem. They told me they were going to discuss it on Tuesday and let me know something in two days. It took me going over to the dealership myself this morning, Friday, to get any answers (I don't think they had any intention of calling me). To make a long story short they had decided they were not going to help me out at all and charge me the full amount before I could have my truck back. I calmly stated my case again to no avail. I told them I would pay the $1000 and try to get the money back by other measures (small claims court), but that didn't phase them. As I was leaving I asked them if my truck was even running and the GM didn't know. Just so everyone knows when I took the truck in it was running great, I only had an annoying hot hard start problem. The GM asked the Service Manager to come to his office and discuss my truck. When the SM was asked if I could drive my truck off the lot he said no because it was dead where it sits. This got my blood pressure rising more than ever. They asked the technician why the truck wasn't running and he had no explaination. He said "I guess it was just the pumps time to go." Funny how it decided to go the day I took it in for work. Now I sit with no truck and I am sure I now have a case against these guys. FYI, I tried to talk with the GM about honoring the 8/136000 and he said he coudn't. I just wanted to give it a shot before going into attack mode to get my money and my pump back. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

But, I will say this. The city of Richardson, in North Texas, has an ordinance, or what ever you want to call it, that repairs CANNOT be made to your automobile without your PRIOR approval, and they must furnish all the old parts that have been replaced. When mine was at the dealer for warranty repair, they would call me if they found or wanted to do anything else. Check your local and state codes and see what it says.
My friend had an issue with a Ford dealership when he had warranty work done to his Powerstroke. After the work was complete, they told him he owed them $$ because the warranty was void (performance chip). He wrote them a check and got his truck back. Then right in front of them, he called his bank and cancelled the check. That was several years ago. As far as I know, he's not a "wanted-man" for "ripping off" the poor dealership!

Lack of warranty items
THis sounds as bad as my story with cryslurrer dollarshops and their poor mechanics, being dishonest & stupid. This is too bad because I am looking at a Ford F-450 orTop Kick for my next truck. I was hoping that they would be ALOT more honest.
