i am looking at a truck with 253K miles that is leaking "something" from the front passenger side fo the engine - about half way up. it looks like oil but i have no idea??? it also appears to be "wet" with the same substance around the bottom of the engine around the "pan" and engine connection.

any idea what these leaks may be? sorry no photos, TIA

any body have a good engine diagram?

 

Wipe it with a paper towel to see what color it is.

Smell it, Its motor oil or anti freeze on the passenger side.

Leaking valve cover
leaking oil supply line to the turbo
loose oil filter
All easy fixes...Use to lower price.

Antifreeze from a leaking lower radiator hose? Use as leverage to lower price.
Antifreeze from a cracked 53 block? Run!

 

what year truck? it could be a 53 block with a crack.
