PUT IN SCOTTY 2 TODAY AND REMOVED THE RING WHILE I WAS AT IT AND BOY DOES IT SOUND LIKE THE TURBO GONNA FLY OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AMOST TO LOUD I THINK. WONDER IF YOU COULD JUST GRIND THE RING DOWN A LITTLE AND GAIN JUST A LITTLE MORE WHISTLE INSTEAD?

 

Mine isn't loud enough

 

Took mine off 2 days ago mines not loud, cant hear it with the heater fan on high. you must have good hearing.

 

???I WONDER WHY MYNE IS SO LOUD ?SOUNDS LIKE IT IS ABOUT 4 TIMES AS LOUD AS BEFORE . I COULD HARDLEY BELEIVE IT WAS THAT LOUD.I WONDER IF ITS BREATHING TO GOOD WITH THE NEW SCOTTY 2 ;D

 

I can barely hear mine.<br>Still have the stock air box/filter though.<br><br>You can really hear them with the free flowing filters such as the AFE Megacannon, BHAF, and of course the Scotty II.<br><br>It's noticebly louder without the ring though.<br>Still have it in my tool box in case it gets too loud though. ;D<br><br><br>phox

I think my scotty with the ring removed sounds cool .....there was a period where I thought it was a bit loud, but then you get used to and and don't even hear it untill you put your foot in it

 

I didn't notice much difference and I have the BHAF. It will sound real nice when I invest in the Scotty 4.<br><br>Mike

 

Can somebody show the link or post I saw a month or so ago on how to remove the ring. I did a search and nothing came up. I remember someone showed pictures. Thanks for the help.

you were right its loud, had my silencer ring off with factory air box still on. installed afe magnum filter system today <br>its loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br>but liken it

Installed a BHAF this morning and WOW talk about loud ;D I think the dogs that live next door are gonna go nuts.
