Re:TURBO SILENCER RING TO LOUD!

While were on the subject, I removed my ring and can hear my turbo better, but it seems alot more noticable when it is cold in the morning. Almost two different pitches as it spools up. From a low howl to a whistle. Does that sound right? Because I sure like the sound. Now I got to get rid of my stock air and install something else that appeals to my ears.

Cole

It and a few other part numbers are posted in the FAQ but just for you, it's a 2790.

~Dave

I know this might not be the right place to ask this but. I took a buddy of mine's ring out the other night in his 12 valver. We couldnt really tell that much diffrence in the sound. Do you have to run a BHAF air filter to get the air moving threw it? What am I doing wrong? ???

Re:TURBO SILENCER RING TO LOUD!

i *tried* to get my ring out the other day......but the snap ring that holds it wouldn't budge.....plus the gap in the snap ring was up at the top of the turbo so it'll be very difficult to get a screwdriver up there. i need somebody with little pixie hands, not my big mitts! What did y'all use to remove that, a snap ring pliers?

Re:TURBO SILENCER RING TO LOUD!

I used two little screwdrivers.
A little bigger than the mini eyeglass ones.

Just lifted it a little at a time with one screwdriver, then jammed the other in there to hold it out while moving the other one around a little more, and so on.

Once I got enough out to grab with my fingers, it pretty much fell out the rest of the way.

My mitts are pretty large as well.

phox
