Turbo rebulders or kit possibly?
Turbo rebulders or kit possibly?
Gents,

I pulled the inlet hose off the turbo yesterday and I noticed a bit of oil around the compressor wheel and noticed that the shaft had a little more play in it then when I got the truck. The wheel's not hitting the housing but the truck is about to roll over 183K and I'd like to address this issue before it becomes a "leave me on the side of the road" issue. I've always turned the truck off at 225 or cooler (post) on the pyro and I need the truck for work.

Short of sending the turbo out to Piers, is there anywhere you can get a rebuild kit for my HX35 for a do-it-yourself rebuild ($$$ is also a issue here)? Also how critical is the balance on these turbos? I know on my Buick it'll freak if the turbo isn't balanced correctly
.

Thanks for the help as always,

Re:Turbo rebulders or kit possibly?
Rebuild kits for the HX35 are around 75 give or take. Any turbo shop can get you what you need or you may be able to order straight from Holset. http://www.holset.co.uk Do not overlook the balance. It is CRUCIAL.
