Turbo possibly tyin up?
I was goin over my truck after an oil change yesterday and noticed the turbo's blades were sort of hard to turn, and they ususally spin freely, and keep spinnin for a while after the engine is off. Now after I shut the truck off it stops right away. Anyone noticed this after a while, and does anything become of it?
Check the turbo for shaft play. And if it is hard to spin that isn't good. Look to see if the compressor wheel has rubbed the housing. And also look to see if there is any damage to the blades.
If you said it shuts right off and the turbo doesn't spool down. I am willing to be your turbo is almost shot and you need a replacement asap.

If its hard to turn, chances are your bearings are coked up, so you won't have much play in it. Good excuse to trade up.
Been drivin it a couple days now and I haven't noticed a loss in boost or anything. Haven't gotten time to recheck it, but yeah it doesn't spool down after the truck is off, and it was hard to turn, didn't notice any scraping inside the housing, so I'm bettin bearings.... budget is pretty tight right now ( till that check from the gov. comes in May) they make any kind of rebuild kit to hold me over? I work on big trucks, and know what those turbos run, kinda scared to see what one for my truck would set me back

Ah, that ain't too bad. I was gettin worried. But I just checked it last night and it seemed fine. I'll let it go for a while and recheck in a couple weeks. Jacked it up and shook down the front end, and I find I gotta put ball joints and tie rod ends in it now....It's never ending, as is with any vehicle.
