Turbo help

Could somebody please tell me the difference between the holset hx35w and the holset hx40w is one better than the other , is one more durable than the other, which one would be best for towing. Thinking about changing from a 35x to a 40 w just thought I would do a little more research before I bought something. Any sugesstions would also be helpful

First off we wont be able to advise very acuretely not knowing what kind of truck or mods you have.. Fill out your sig under User CP. Ill give you a general on it if I can though.

There can be a big veriety in both. The sizes I have writtin down that Ive got off here over time are.. HX-35.. 54_56/58/12_14 HX-40.. 58_60/65/12_14_16. ( _ = or )

Some one please correct me if those sizes are off but I got em off here B in the D.

Pros..The 40 will move more air even if your not building quite as much boost.
The 35 will spool faster which ever size exhaust housing you have.
The 35 from what I hear is one dang tough little turbo.

Con.. Ive been told the 40 Is notorious for breaking shafts so you must be careful not to bark it.

As for towing I cant give you much Info there even if I know what you have done to your truck. I myself was stuck with a HY-35 on my truck and am In the middle of getting what I need to bolt on my new HX-35/40 hybrid.

Maybe you should look into that If your lookin for more air/ better towing.
