Turbo buzzing?

When I jump in the throttle hard I am hearing a buzzing sound, it seems to be coming from the passenger side but cannot tell if it is coming from the turbo or the computer, anyone have any ideas?

Might want to check the turbo for play and/or leaks. I would almost think as small boost leak though could make your sound. Hard to tell without being able to hear it... Do you have a boost gauge? If so how does your boost look?

stop driving it right now! you must check to see if the turbo compressor wheel has made contact with the housing. if it has then you have blown metal into the intercooler and you will pull it into the engine eventually. you must get all of that metal out before you destroy the engine.

I will check for play, but I just had the turbo off not that long ago and it was in good shape. The buzzing only occurs on hard excelleration. I run it 70mph+ on the way home from work every day and it never does it unless I stop and floor it or almost floor it.

ok i might be off base then but if the housing is contacted you have a problem on your hands that cannot wait. if it's only under acceleration then it's probably a boost leak like the post above mentions.

Ok so if I have a boost leak, is there a good way to check? Where would it most likely be leaking?

Could be leaking from anywhere, but it's usually the intercooler boots, or the intercooler itself. Easiest way to check is to plug the intercooler boot coming from the turbo, pressurize the system and see how fast it drops.
