Truck won't start after changing fuel filter
No, I didn't get the in tank kit. I bought a Delphi pump from http://www.o-f-i.com
Luckily, they're in my town, I just drove over and picked it up.
Yea! Big Blue is fixed. Started it and finished the job last night at my shop. I'm soooo glad that this happened in my shop and not on the road.
I had some weird open throttle hesitation before, and I'm pretty sure it was from lack of fuel. After a few hours of removing a few motor accessories (filter canister and oil dip stick tube), I finally got to the old lift pump and removed it. I don't think I've ever removed so many banjo fittings in my life. Had a small issue with the new pump hitting the very long dip stick tube. Got that moved, then everything went into place. Pump installed. Filter canister reinstalled. All fittings tightened. Canister for filter filled with diesel. All electrical hooked up. Had a little trouble getting the truck started again, but after cranking for a looooong while it sputtered and then started right up!
I also replaced the filter with a flat AFE filter. Now I just need to change the oil and oil filter and I'm ready for the coast!
Thanks again for everyone's help! I'm going to install a fuel pressure gauge when I get back from the coast. Or Edge Juice with Attitude...
