Heres the deal, last night I went to start my truck after just driving it and nothing...not even a crank. I could hear the pump turn on but thats its. No warning lights or anything came on. Could this be the starter or something way worse - Chris

 

Its normal for a starter not to do anything and something els like the lites to work , the starter will draw a lot of amps 600-800 and a lite as little as a couple amps so when like you when you've got a dead battery or bad connection it will only pass a little current , so 1st is how old are the batteries , starter, altanator , have them load tested , look at the connections are they clean , then look around for the upgraded starter conntacts they can cause this also , then you get deeper by checking the ignition switch, nutural safty switch ,but after the 1st stuff.

Looks like its the ignition or neutral safety switch. My batteries are fairly new, I have power to my starter, and all of my alternator connections are good. Im goin deeper into it tommorrow.

 

Check your starter relay under the hood, in the fuse box.
