Truck seems sluggish
Truck seems sluggish
I am new to the world of diesel trucks and have recently bought a 98 24V 2500 4x4 QC.
It has the 5spd,4.10 locking rear and is low mileage(58K miles)
I was next to a mini-van and am ashamed to admit it (almost) beat me :-[
The truck has the ATS propane system(no bottle),Jacobs exhaust brake,305/70/16 tires.
I hooked up the grill bottle today just to see what it did and could notice a difference in power but am wary of using it.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

Re:Truck seems sluggish
I'd say that you should look into that thing.
Check for boost leaks and the like, and for fuel pressure before investing cash. Does the truck have any other mods? Like an Edge EZ or another box?
And if you don't find anything wrong you can go over to the high performance forum and learn how to torch holes in your wallet ;D

Re:Truck seems sluggish
It was checked out by the Dodge dealership I bought it from and no major problems were found-some minor work was done but that was all.
I couldn't tell you if it had a box on it or not as the dealer hadn't mentioned the exhaust brake was installed,I doubt they would know if it did or not.
Where would it be located?

Re:Truck seems sluggish
Boxes can be located almost everywhere. Look for stuff about the size of a packet of cigarettes (I know there is a lot of thingys with cables in that size under the hood ;D ), maybe velcroed to the fuse box.
I do think that it seems funny that the dealer should not mention the exhaust brake and the propane. Maybe he ommitted some other stuff too.
