trouble starting

trouble starting

my truck will just sit there and turn over and not start. when you let off the key u can hear something humming under the hood. then when u try to start it a couple more times it will start. i am just confused

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Try parking downhill with a relativelly full tank of fue. If it starts normal, this indicates a air leak into the fuel return system.
Frequent issues is: Loose banjo bolt at rear of head. Loose three way fitting at left rear side of block. A connector tube Oring leak. The rest of banjo bolt fittings..Sometimes you will find a very small dampness at area of air leak.

Fuel filter been changed lately? It could be clogged. Do you have a fuel pressure guage? If not...they are worth having.

ram1999 i changed my fuel filter today and it seemed to work for now thanks for all of your help both of you guys
