Transmission Temp ? What should it be?

seems to be two different opinions.
you either want to know the actual temp of the tranny (hot line) OR
you want to know the average of the tranny fluid (inside the pan)
i think both are ok but it seems that you could detect a problem alot earlier by monitoring the hot line
