transmission problem need help

transmission problem need help
I have a 02 4X4 auto and today it started not shifting out of first gear until I let off the throttle. When I got home I started messing with it and now I can not get it to come out of low and go into park there for I am not able to start it. I have checked the linkage and everything is free any ideas would be great.
