Hi all, I have a 2005 2500 4x4 with automatic tranny. Here is what it is doing.

after i come to a stop , the truck is not going down into first gear, it takes it about 4 seconds to shift down. When coming to a stop at say a stop sign, i feel a couple of little bumps in the transmision and then a final surge as it goes into first. If i dont wait for it to shift down, i will take off in 2nd or 3rd gear and about 3 or 4 seconds later it will slam into first. It drive fine except for this problem.

I think it is something electronic. I called dodge and gave them my vin. number and they told me all i had was a 36k warranty on the tranny.

I have 71k miles on the truck.

 

Sounds like a shifting solenoid is burnt out. They can hook up the Star Scan and find out the exact problem.

 

Governor Pressure Solenoid and Governor Pressure Transducer. Replace them both, and have the ECM flash updated......known issue on these trucks.

 

how much we looking at , at the dealership for these solenoids?
