ok i think my transfer pump is out i have a 99 cummins auto 2500 4x4 it runs fine seems to ave a small miss at idle for some reason hasnt gotton any worse but were getting ready for a dues trip and i figured we have had the truck for about 20k now and i decided to do the fuel filter so i replaced the fuel filter cracked the banjo bolt on the out side and taped the key on the crank side to bleed the air out well i did it like 4 times and no fuel was comming out so i pulle the fuel filter housing again and still no fuel in it the drain was closed and i could here the pump going it was kinda noisy though and the rpms speed up and down on the transfer pump motor so i cracked the line to the filter still nothing so i got some diesel filled the canister and after about 10-15 sec. of cranking it fired up and still runs fine can it rune fine with a transfer pump not pumping nood your help thanks?????

 

yes it can, my first lp went bad the same way. i ran for many miles with out any pressure.... the only way i could tell was the slight acelleration stumble,and it would not fill the filter canister when i changed it. i put a guage on it and the vp was sucking a vacuum of 5 to 7 inches
