Trans wont go back in
Trans wont go back in
I put a new clutch in and got it all back together and then went to put the trans in and i get about an 1" to an 1 1/2" away from the bellhousing and it wont go in any more so i took it out and put my alignment tool back in to make sure everything is still good and it is the tool go in fine??????
My question is is it real hard to slam them back together am i being to gentle?
or
Is there some special technique needed to get it all the way in?
thanks in advance for any help

trans,wont go
try puting trans in gear, turn output shaft,it will turn input
shaft so splines will line up with splines in clutch & it will
go in til it hits pilot bearing, make sure trans has same gap
top to bottom, side to side from bellhouseing to trans face
shake it a little& push at same time it should go in.
BE PATIENT good luck

sounds like you're not getting the pilot bearing and trans shaft lined up just right. keep in mind the angle of the transmisson in relation to the engine. it shouldn't take more than a shove if everything is lined up correctly. try raising and or lowering the backend to get better alaignment
#1 mistake on any transmission install is having the tranny in nuetral... i cant remember how many times ive left the tranny in nuetral and fought trying to get it to line up..
Put er' in gear n if that dont work, well push harder.

Be gentile!!!!! Force it in and you can push the pilot bearing through the flywheel. At 1 1/2 inches the spline is not lined up right, as was said, turn it. Also the trans is **** about being lined up perfectly, sometimes real hard to do. The slightest angle and it will not go in.
i use 2 6" long bolts, i cut the heads off them and screw them in on either side of the motor adapter. then i jack up the tranny and start it onto the 2 studs. and just slid it in. i swear this works so much better then trying to stab it.
